As a company that provides products and services over the internet, we understand the importance of security. For this reason we have created highly secure facilities to give you confidence when making an online payment and when you provide your personal details to us. Security and fraud protection are important to us and are highly monitored in all parts of our website where applicable.
We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt your details when they are sent from your computer to our system. This ensures that your details are kept private except where we have advised you otherwise in our terms and conditions.
When you log into your My Lycamobile account and you process a payment, a padlock will be visible in the search bar of your web browser. This means that you are in secure mode which you should always be in when entering personal or payment details on any website.
Being in secure mode means all your details are encrypted for increased security (128 bit). We use advanced encryption by Network Solutions Certificate Authority so that your card details are safe.
Our Tip: Always close your internet browser after you have processed an online payment, especially when you have used a shared computer. This will usually delete temporary Internet cookies from any sites that you may have visited and log you out from your account on transactional websites.
Secure Online Payments
Lycamobile participates in Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode for added online payment security. These services are offered by Visa and MasterCard, in association with the bank that has issued your credit / debit card. It is aimed at protecting your details when making online payments by ensuring your card is not being used by someone else and is now becoming a standard across all eCommerce websites.

Warning – fraudulent calls, emails, text messages & online scams
Be careful if you receive an unexpected calls claiming to be from Lycamobile or email claiming to be from Lycamobile or sent on our behalf – even if it looks professional. There’s a good chance it’s from a fraudster. No genuine Lycamobile promotional call, email or text message will request that you pay an advanced fee to release a prize.
Fraudulent emails often claim to offer jobs, business opportunities or share swapping services with Lycamobile. Some tell you that you have won a competition or lottery. Usually they ask you to reply with personal details such as your user name, password, or even bank details, or direct you to a website that asks for this information.
Any legitimate organisation will never ask for this type of personal information in an email or by sending a link to a website. These messages are not from Lycamobile and we are not responsible for them.
Double check the email address. At first glance, fraudulent messages can look like they’re from Lycamobile, but on closer inspection are from a hotmail or other public email account. For example, Lycamobile@hotmail.com is not a genuine Lycamobile email address.
Double check the URL of websites and links. Companies always use clear URLs like www.Lycamobile.com/content/index/about.html. Scam sites and links usually have long addresses using special characters like &^%%%&*$£”
Look at the wording used. If it doesn’t read like a request from a legitimate company, it probably isn’t.
Avoid requests that sound vague, unlikely or too casual, such as “our database has been corrupted, please resend your details”, or “recent legislation means we require this information”.
Look for grammar and spelling mistakes. Scam emails are often electronically translated from different languages, resulting in obvious spelling errors and odd sentence structures.
If in doubt call up Lycamobile Customer Care on the number published on our website and ask that the promotion or information be validated.
